Generally, thermal paste needs to be replaced regularly every 1-2 years for laptop use that is not too heavy. Meanwhile, if you use your device for heavy work that requires continuous use, it is best to replace the laptop paste every 6 months or once a year. Here are some signs that you need to pay attention to as signs that it is time to replace the laptop paste:

1. Laptop cooling fan makes loud noise
In fact, the main function of replacing laptop paste is to channel the processor heat back into the heatsink so that it doesn't overheat. Usually this problem will be characterized by a loud noise coming from the cooling fan or outside the laptop casing, where the cause is because the temperature on the processor is increasing.

2. Laptop performance decreases
If you feel that the device's performance is decreasing over time, this could be a sign that the thermal paste is no longer effective and you need to replace the laptop paste as soon as possible.

3. Laptop suddenly turns off while using it
Have you ever experienced a laptop that suddenly shuts down while in use? If so, maybe this is a sign that the thermal paste needs to be replaced.

This condition can be triggered because the temperature on the GPU (VGA) or processor chip is too hot, so that the Overheat Temperature Protection (OTP) system becomes active.
