Samsung has just introduced their newest high-end class SSD by presenting the SSD 990 EVO which is the successor to the 970 EVO. This latest SSD from Samsung is promised to have powerful capabilities with better energy efficiency for various types of computing activities, from gaming, work, to video and photo editing.
The Samsung 990 EVO offers a performance increase of up to 43% compared to the previous model, the 970 EVO Plus. Sequential read speeds reach 5,000 MB/s while write speeds reach 4,200 MB/s.
The SSD 990 EVO also offers energy efficiency of up to 70% compared to the 970 EVO Plus, which will help the laptop battery to be more energy efficient when using this SSD. In addition, Samsung also explains that this drive has a heat spreader label that more effectively regulates temperature conditions, especially when used at consistently high performance so that it will not compromise the integrity of the SSD.
The SSD 990 EVO is also said to be compatible with PCIe 5.0 x2 and PCIe 4.0 x4 interfaces. This SSD can also be placed in a PCIe 4.0 M.2 slot which also supports the needs of today's PCs. Samsung provides 1 TB and 2 TB variants for the SSD 990 EVO, with selling prices starting from IDR 1.9 million.
